As a publicly commissioned and duly sworn interpreter and translator for the English language I can also provide certified translations of documents, such as

Interpreting

Whatever the requirements of your event, I can provide the right mode of interpreting:

• Liaison interpreting

Relatively short statements are interpreted from one language to another, enabling conversation between two or more parties. This results in a short time delay.

Applications: business negotiations, technical discussions, business travel, etc.

• Simultaneous interpreting

The interpreter renders the speaker's words into the target language as they are being spoken. This requires an extremely high level of concentration. For this reason, a minimum of two simultaneous interpreters work together in a soundproof booth.

Applications: multilingual events, conferences, conventions, symposia, presentations, shows, galas, etc.

• Consecutive interpreting

The interpreter takes notes as the speech is being given and then recites the speech in the target language. The number of consecutive interpreters required depends on the complexity of the subject matter and the duration of the assignment.

Applications: speeches at dinners and the opening of public events, bilateral negotiations, ceremonial occasions (formal speeches), lectures, presentations, guided tours, etc.

Please note that consecutive interpreting requires approximately twice as much time as simultaneous interpreting.

• Whispered interpreting

This form of simultaneous interpreting is also known as “chuchotage”. Here, the interpreter provides the listener with a whispered interpretation of the speaker's words without using any technical equipment. Due to the high level of concentration required, two qualified conference interpreters usually work as a team.

As a rule, this service can only be provided for one or two listeners at the most. In certain cases, however, portable interpreting equipment can be used to make this form of interpreting suitable for small groups. These portable systems are an ideal solution for guided tours, but they cannot replace soundproof interpreting booths at larger multilingual events.

In addition, I can advise you on the appropriate technical equipment for your conference, translate your conference documents and coordinate teams of interpreters and translators in accordance with your personal requirements.

Proof-reading

Since the introduction of the European Standard DIN EN 15038, it has been standard practice for translations to be proof-read by a "second set of eyes".

I would be more than happy to proof-read a translation for you or to have my own translations proof-read by a qualified colleague.
